John L. Stechschulte
UDPATE: I am beginning to type up my journal. (Finally!) I'll post my journal entries here as I type them.
In the fall of 2008 I rode a bicycle across the US. The map below shows the route I followed.

You can find me online through:
Some Links:
- WarmShowers.org--a site that connects cycle tourists with people willing to host them.
- Lon's Road Trip Blog--I met Lon on the Natchez Trace, he's a cool guy and very generously cooked me a hot breakfast on a cold rainy day.
- Habitat Cycle of Hope--I crossed paths with Bob in Louisiana. Not only is he riding his bike across the country, but he's raising $71,000 for Habitat for Humanity while he's at it. Please make a donation!
- Natchez Trace Parkway--this was described by someone as the "Disneyland of Bike Touring" which is probably true. Beautiful country, easy riding, nice campgrounds.
- Article about the United Steaks of America--I spent a night at this place. The article is right on about the owner. If anyone is cycling through Crump, Tennessee, be sure to stop in and tell Armando that John sent you. Also, this is their MySpace page.

Other projects of mine:
- MoviesToSee.net - a website to keep track of movies you have seen and movies you want to see -- and share these with your friends.
- BaltimoreBikeBlog.net - this blog I've largely neglected since the early spring. Includes photos, maps, and comments from bike rides I've gone on in and around Baltimore.
- GeoStamper.py - a simple Python program to geostamp photographs.
